These news items have been transferred from the official S.A.V.E. project website. From now on this site will be used to post all the news and activities related to the project.


  • Listen to K-Rock the week of December 22 – 29 for our first group of S.A.V.E. messages. S.A.V.E. messages will also be created for Valentines Day, March Break, Graduation and Fall back-to-School
  • November 20, 2006 Montague Mayor Richard Collins proclaims with students at Montague High School, that S.A.V.E. Week will take place from November 27, 2006 to December 1, 2006.
  • November 22, 2006 - Students tape radio commercials about relationship violence with K-ROCK 105.5 FM at their studio.
  • November 22, 2006 - The Community Foundation of PEI, in a reception at the Arts Guild in Charlottetown, presents S.A.V.E. PEI with a grant of $2,000 for the radio commercials.
  • November 27, 2006 - Silent Witnesses Program is at Montague Regional High School for two presentations. S.A.V.E. Students distribute VIP information cards "Violence is Preventable" to fellow students.
  • Students are designing S.A.V.E. posters and writing poems and songs. We are planning to set up information displays at different locations to raise awareness and helping to distribute a guide for parents on internet safety and cyber-bullying produced by Yes 4 Youth Kings County
  • S.A.V.E. PEI meets on Wednesday mornings at Montague Regional High School. A member makes an announcement on the School PA system including a message about relationship violence.
