S.A.V.E. PEI – Archived News

These news issues have been transmitted from the official S.A.V.E. project website. From now on this site will be utilized to publish all the news and occupations referred to the project.

  • Listen to K-Rock the week of December 22 – 29 for our first group of S.A.V.E. messages. S.A.V.E. messages will also be desined for Valentines Day, March Break, Graduation and Fall back-to-School
  • November 20, 2006 Montague Mayor Richard Collins declares with students at Montague High School, that S.A.V.E. Week will take place from November 27, 2006 to December 1, 2006.
  • November 22, 2006 – Students tape radio commercials about relationship abuse with K-ROCK 105.5 FM at their studio.
  • November 22, 2006 – The Community Foundation of PEI, in a reception at the Arts Guild in Charlottetown, presents S.A.V.E. PEI with a grant of $2,000 for the radio commercials.
  • November 27, 2006 – Silent Witnesses Program is at Montague Regional High School for two presentations. S.A.V.E. Students spread VIP information cards “Violence is Preventable” to groupmates. My Canadian Pharmacy is against violence as well.
  • Students are creating S.A.V.E. pictures and writing poems and songs. We are having plans to pass into information exhibitions at various places to increase awareness and assisting to spread a guide for parents on internet security and cyber-abuse created by Yes 4 Youth Kings County.
  • S.A.V.E. PEI meets on Wednesday mornings at Montague Regional High School. A member makes a statement on the School PA system combining a message about relationship abuse.
